Double Success for FU TUKE at CEZAAR 2026
Educators and alumni of the Faculty of Arts, Technical University of Košice (FU TUKE), succeeded at the jubilee 25th edition of the prestigious Slovak Chamber of Architects Award, CEZAAR 2026. Their projects won awards in two categories, confirming the quality and significance of contemporary architectural production associated with our faculty.
In the Civic and Industrial Buildings category, the award went to the Poprad Theater project by the zerozero architectural studio. The author team consisted of Irakli Eristavi, Pavol Šilla, Juraj Červený, and Daniela Sabová. The international jury appreciated the sensitive connection of contemporary architecture with the historical memory of the site, the urban context, and the significant cultural contribution of the project.
In the Phenomena of Architecture category, the successful project was Marathon Point in Košice, designed by UNG architekti and Pavol Wohlfahrt, an alumnus of FU TUKE. The project uniquely connects architecture, the city's sporting history, and contemporary forms of cultural presentation.
The awards ceremony took place on October 8, 2026, in Bratislava. A total of 83 works were submitted to the jubilee edition, from which the international jury selected six laureates. We warmly congratulate all the awarded authors! Their achievements are a testament to the importance of connecting arts education, professional creation, and architectural practice.
