Summer Gathering of the Faculty of Arts, TUKE in Herľany
On 23 June 2026, another Summer Gathering of the Faculty of Arts at TUKE took place in the pleasant surroundings of Herľany. As is now tradition, the event provided an opportunity for faculty staff members and doctoral students to come together. The gathering was dedicated not only to reflecting on the past period and engaging in informal discussions about the future direction of the faculty, but also to expressing gratitude to individuals who have made a long-term contribution to its development.
Part of the programme included a ceremonial presentation of letters of appreciation on the occasion of employees’ milestone birthdays and significant anniversaries. The Dean’s Award for a long-standing and continuous contribution to the development of the Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Arts, TUKE, and for shaping generations of architecture graduates, was presented to akad. arch. Ing. Karol Gregor. The award was personally handed over by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, TUKE, Assoc. Prof. Mgr. art. Ing. Richard Kitta, ArtD.
The event provided space for open discussions among colleagues and departments of the faculty, the exchange of experiences, and the sharing of new ideas within the academic community. We were also pleased to welcome international guests among the participants, including Prof. Aigars Bikše from the Art Academy of Latvia in Riga, who accepted our invitation.
The programme was complemented by outdoor social activities, including a hike to the Rankovské skaly rock formations and informal gatherings that helped create a friendly and creative atmosphere.
We would like to thank all participants for the pleasant atmosphere and inspiring environment, which reaffirmed the strong sense of community and supported the creative spirit of the Faculty of Arts, TUKE.
