Faculty of Arts TUKE in Athens / SCA
Messages
From July 1 to 4, 2025, representatives of the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Economics at TUKE took part in the final meeting of the international project Seniors Climate Action (SCA), held at the premises of the KMOP organization in Athens. Coordinated by the Faculty of Arts TUKE within the Erasmus+ program, the SCA project connects arts education and digital technologies with the engagement of the EU’s senior population.
As part of the main program on July 3, 2025, a project partners’ meeting was held. Participants presented the results of various project areas – from the development of an educational curriculum focused on environmental awareness, to the creation of an online e-learning platform and a methodological toolkit supporting senior activities in climate responsibility, and finally to activities related to dissemination and sustainability. The discussion focused on evaluating the project’s achieved goals, exchanging experiences from pilot testing, and proposing further uses of the project’s outputs in different community and educational settings.
The project was led by Assoc. Prof. Richard Kitta, ArtD., from the Faculty of Arts TUKE, in collaboration with Ing. Manuela Raisova, PhD., from the Faculty of Economics TUKE. Participating institutions from Greece, Italy, and Spain confirmed their interest in continuing cooperation within future international projects.
Seniors Climate Action has thus affirmed its importance as an innovative initiative that fosters environmental awareness through artistic and digital forms of education involving the older generation. The project demonstrated that senior creativity and experience can be an active part of responding to today’s climate challenges.
